Jessica Krajewski: Intern

Jessica Krajewski joined TRIP as an intern in January of this year. She is a sophomore dual major in architecture and civil engineering at RPI. She has always wanted to find a way to combine her experience in architecture with her desire to create strong communities for all.  Although she is mostly doing research, she is excited to start working more in depth on some upcoming projects. 

Working at TRIP has been a wonderful experience because not only does she feel like she is making a difference, but she finds everyone here extremely nice and willing to help with anything she may need. 

In her spare time, aside from classes, more classes, RPI Student Government, her internship here at TRIP, and more classes she loves to hang out with friends and just be a typical college student.

Building a Stronger Troy

To more effectively support the City of Troy and to enhance the opportunities for teaching and learning for our students, Hudson Valley Community College, Russell Sage College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Emma Willard School are working together to create a series of public deliberations to focus on the future of Troy.

The public is invited to a meeting on Nov 19th, 2013 at the Italian Community Center, 1450 5th Ave, Troy, NY at 6:15pm. 

This is free and open to the public and will be followed by additional meetings in 2014.

New Faces at TRIP: Chris Nobes

Working with TRIP for the Fall 2012 semester is RPI student Christopher Nobes. Chris is a fifth-year Architecture student with a minor in Sustainability and will be spending his time with us as our Sustainability and Urban Architecture Intern. Throughout the semester, Chris will have the opportunity to visit some of our rental and rehab sites while also conducting research focusing on funds and design ideas to further TRIP's environmental improvement efforts.

Outside of school, Chris enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, and playing the drums. His love of soccer even brought him to Europe where he played as a defender on international teams in England and Portugal.

Chis hails from Belchertown, Massachusetts, and hopes to one day start his own architecture firm focusing on an integrated approach to real estate and construction. Welcome Chris, we're looking forward to a great semester!

New Faces at TRIP: Welcome Joel Levy, Summer Intern

TRIP would like to welcome our newest intern, Joel Levy! Joel is a rising senior at RPI double-majoring in Business Marketing and Electronic Media Arts and Communication. Growing up in Florida, this is his first New York summer!

Joining the TRIP team as a Marketing and Communications Intern, Joel will be developing templates for and designing printed materials, assisting with online promotion of TRIP and our partners, and serving as a photographer at events. We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Joel, and look forward to a productive summer!

"Thank You" to our Spring RPI Interns

TRIP would like to say a big "thank you" to our two spring interns! Oscar White and Kristi Nelson, RPI students, worked with us for the semester as part of their Community Service Internship class. They were great to have and really helped to motivate and speed up several projects.

Thank you to both of you! TRIP's partnership with RPI is incredibly valuable to us, and we hope that you got a lot out of seeing the inside of a local non-profit. Best of luck to you as you continue your studies! Come back and visit when you get a chance!

New Faces at TRIP

Staff Changes

Sue Cummings

TRIP saw a few staff changes in mid-February, and we are excited to welcome Sue Cummings to our team!  Sue has been hired as our Administrative Assistant, taking the position previously held by Sue Patregnani.  Sue P. is now filing the accounting position that opened when Jean Clickner left TRIP.  TRIP is happy to have another Sue, and we wish Jean all the best at her new job!

A little about our newest employee: Sue Cummings is a long time resident of the Capital Region.  She grew up in Albany and is now living in Watervliet.  When she's not at TRIP, Sue loves spending time with family and friends, reading good books, and watching movies.  One of her favorite films this year was The Help.

RPI Interns

Also joining the team are two new RPI interns.  Kristi Nelson and Oscar White will be working with us for this spring semester.

Kristi Nelson

Kristi will be working with TRIP as our Communications and Marketing Intern.  She is a Troy native studying IT/Web Science and Graphic Design as a senior at RPI.  Kristi keeps herself quite active; some of her hobbies include snowboarding, soccer, and photography.  Kristi also enjoys the performing arts specializing in ballet and modern dance. 

While interning at TRIP, Kristi is looking forward to a valuable professional experience with visible end results.

Oscar White

Oscar is spending his time with us as our Sustainability and Public Relations Intern.  He is a Business Management Major studying abroad at RPI; his home institution is Leeds University in England. Back at Leeds, Oscar enjoys playing rugby, but here in New York, he has been strapping on his skis and visiting the slopes around the region.  Oscar has made sure to take full advantage of being in the States and has spent time visiting New York City, Boston, Arizona, and California.

During his semester at TRIP, Oscar looks forward to gaining valuable insight into the operations of a not-for-profit organization.
